To better inform the SFU Community of sustainable dining, SFU Dining Services is launching a weeklong campaign to spread awareness of the overall environmental impact of plastic straws usage and disposable cups and waste.
This campaign is running in conjunction to a large social media contest held in three parts: the Grand Prize Photo Contest on Facebook, the Daily Prize Contest on Instagram, and a Survey Contest. This document outlines the rules and regulations on participating in all three.
To enter the Grand Prize Contest, participants must take a photo of the contest specific sticker shown on the SFU Dining Services Facebook page with their drink in either a reusable cup or Starbucks cup with a biodegradable straw, reply with their photo on the contest post, like our Facebook page and tag two friends. The Grand Prize Contest will start November 12, 2018 10:00AM (PST) and the deadline is November 17, 2018 at 10:00 PM (PST). Unlimited entries per person throughout this period for the Grand Prize Contest period.
To enter the Daily Prize Contest, participants must respond to the daily question posted on SFU Dining Service’s Instagram account, follow our Instagram Page and tag 3 friends. The Daily Prize Contest will start November 12, 2018 at 10:00AM (PST) and end on November 17, 2018 at 10:00 PM (PST). Limit to one entry per person per day within the Daily Prize Contest period. If participants attempt or are suspected of attempting to enter more than once per day or use robotic, automatic, and programmed or any entry methods not authorized by these rules, it shall be deemed as tampering and will void your entries.
To enter the Survey Contest, participants must answer all questions of the SFU Dining Services Sustainability Survey, which include giving their name and SFU email addresses. The survey will go live on November 12, 2018 at 10:00AM (PST) and end on November 17, 2018 at 10:00 PM (PST). Limit to one entry per person within the Survey Contest period.
Contest is open to students, staff and faculty of Simon Fraser University (SFU) and Fraser International College (FIC) who are age 18 and older at the start of the contest opening date. For any contestant who has not reached the age of majority, parent or guardian consent is necessary to enter the Contest. Where appropriate, the terms “contestant” and “winner” mean parent or guardian of that person.
